Three Rivers Crime Stoppers is an affiliate of the national organization, Crime Stoppers USA. The local programs work to create a network to prevent and solve crimes in communities and schools across the nation. The tips received are anonymous from citizens who wish to provide information to local law enforcement about possible crimes or hazardous situations in their community. Secure web sites, phone applications and phone lines are manned by a program coordinator for Three Rivers Crime Stoppers. Each caller is assigned a code number for the purpose of ensuring anonymity. Cash rewards up to $1000 may be offered to persons providing anonymous information that leads to the felony arrest of criminals and fugitives. Since this is a citizen/community based organization, the program is managed by a local board of directors and funded by the public through tax deductible donations.
